The ceremony, which took place at the hospital, witnessed the presence of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, initiator of the project and President of the Children of Africa Foundation, the First Lady of Niger, Dr. Lalla Malika Issoufou , Vice President of the Republic, Daniel Kablan Duncan, Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly, Presidents of Institutions, Mrs. Henriette Bédié, President of the NGO Servir, guests of the Gala Dinner and population of Bingerville.

With a total cost of 25 billion CFA francs, this hospital is specifically dedicated to the Mother and the Child. Its construction work lasted five (05) years. It has 130 beds with a modern technical platform to offer quality care to the population.

Literally impressed by the beauty of the building, the Head of State commended the First Lady for her spirit of solidarity and sharing. According to him, this hospital  dedicated to the mother and the child exceeds all his expectations. "It's indeed a beautiful work. I am very happy. But I'm not surprised because you have a taste for perfection. It shows your love and affection to the people of Bingerville and the District of Abidjan, " said President Alassane Ouattara. The Head of State took this opportunity to reiterate his commitment for improving  provision of care for populations. "My ambition is to bring health facilities closer to the people," he said.

Dr. Lalla Malika Issoufou, First Lady of Niger and guest of honor at the Children of Africa Gala Dinner said how  proud she is of the  humanitarian commitment of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for 20 years. She hoped that this commitment of the wife of the Head of State will inspire other First Ladies.

 Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, President of Children Of Africa and initiator of the Mother-Child Hospital expressed her thanks to all the generous donors and all the bodies that work to achieve this dream. "I remember with emotion, the laying of the foundation stone of the hospital in June 29, 2013, right here in Bingerville …Five years later, great is my joy to see that what was then just a project, has become a beautiful hospital for our people. During the past five years, we have struggled to mobilize human, material and financial resources needed to realize such a work. Our goal has now been achieved, "she said.


The construction of children’s home in a few months

Mrs. Dominique Ouattara revealed that the construction of the children’s house entirely financed by the Lalla Salma Foundation, will start in the coming months. "This shelter will be used to house children being treated far from their homes. This home is built by the Lalla Salma Foundation of the Kingdom of Morocco. (...) It has been designed and built to provide quality care, at a reasonable cost and accessible to all. Moms and children will be well cared for and will receive special attention regardless of their social status. Do not hesitate to come for treatment! She said.

Dr. Raymonde Goudou Coffie, Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, welcomed the humanitarian commitment of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara. She argued that the Ivorians appreciate her legendary generosity. She also recalled that the Ivorian government’s priority is the improvement of the  health system in the country.

Beugré Djoman, Mayor of Bingerville, welcomed the inauguration of the  Mother and Child Hospital in his city. He also expressed his thanks to Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for this initiative that will benefit people of Bingerville.

Frédéric du Sart, Director General and Professor Da Silva Anoma, Scientific and Medical Director at the MCH, alternately presented the hospital to the many guests and the people present.

In addition, President Alassane Ouattara offered the sum of 20 million CFA francs to the staff of the MCH and to the populations present. The latter, in return, offered gifts to the presidential couple.

The ceremony ended with a guided tour of the Hospital. On the evening of Friday, March 16, 2018, the guests of Children of Africa Foundation will take part in the 7th gala dinner of the Foundation. This 7th charity meeting is under the  theme: "Africa, an enchanting place".
