The “Salle des fêtes” of the Hotel Sofitel Ivoire will host from Wednesday 25 to Thursday 26 February the exhibition called "Unique Objects" of Princess Ira von Fürstenberg. After Milan, Paris and Hong Kong, the sponsor of Children of Africa Foundation will show for the first time in Africa, particularly in Abidjan her art works exhibition. The exhibition presents a series of great fantastic, poetic and symbolic scope. The creations of the Princess come to life and form through her fertile imagination and high sense of aesthetics and art. Her predilection materials are mainly the quartz, crystal rock, porphyry, malachite, jade, coral, gold, silver and gilt bronze. Ira Fürstenberg has to his credit more than 2,000 works in addition to 20 years of artistic career.
Since 1993, numerous exhibitions of his art have taken place in Europe: London, Paris, Geneva, Athens, Monaco and Milan. In the United States: Palm Beach, Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia. Beyond art, Princess Ira von Fürstenberg is also an accomplished humanitarian. Indeed, the Princess is the patron of the Children of Africa Foundation of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara. Ivorians were able to discover her for the first time on February 24, 2012, at the first gala dinner of Mrs. Dominique Ouattara’s foundation. On this occasion, some of her works of art were auctioned to permit Children of Africa to collect the necessary funds for the construction project of the Mother-Child Hospital of Bingerville. This time again, the benefits of her exhibition of artworks will be donated to Children of Africa Foundation for its humanitarian work for the well-being of people in general and children in particular.
