The First Lady, Dominique Ouattara, UNAIDS Ambassador for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and the Promoting of Pediatric Treatment, received in audience Mrs. Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris, on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017, at the presidential residence. On a visit in Côte d'Ivoire in the framework of a seminar on "Municipal strategies to combat HIV / AIDS”, the Mayor of Paris, in addition, President of the Association of Mayors of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) has paid a visit of courtesy and friendship to the wife of the Head of State she knows for many years. During the visit, Mrs Anne Hidalgo was accompanied by Mr Georges Serre, Ambassador of France to Côte d'Ivoire.
For more than an hour, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara exchanged with her distinguished guest on various issues related to the fight against HIV / AIDS, and the Mother-Child Hospital of Bingerville. Indeed, Mrs. “Dominique Ouattara presented her commitment to the fight against the mother to child transmission of HIV / AIDS in her capacity as UNAIDS Special Ambassador. She also presented the major project of Children of Africa Foundation, namely the Mother-Child Hospital of Bingerville, which will open in the coming months.
Mrs. Anne Hidalgo took this opportunity to congratulate Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, on the one hand for her commitment in favor of the mother-child couple, and on the other hand for her involvement in the fight against mother-to-child transmission of HIV / AIDS. She took the opportunity to unveil the actions of the Association of French-speaking Mayors. In this regard, she revealed that this association has been able to provide support to a health center in the vicinity of Libreville. And through their combined efforts, they have been able to reduce the rate of mother-to-child transmission of HIV / AIDS. She finished by assuring Mrs. Dominique Ouattara of her support.
