The renowned school HEC-Paris has just opened its West and Central Africa office in Côte d’Ivoire. The inauguration ceremony of this new office that will allow the school to now provide quality education in Côte d’Ivoire was held on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at la maison de l’Entreprise in Plateau. It was chaired by Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, and witnessed the presence of several personalities including Mr. Albert Mabri Toikeusse, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Sidi Tiémoko Touré, Minister of Communication and Media, Mr. Aboudramane Cissé, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic and Mr. Gilles Huberson, Ambassador of France to Côte d’Ivoire. Executives and former students of HEC Paris were also present.
The purpose of this HEC office is to train about a hundred senior executives each year in finance and corporate strategy and to promote and develop the school’s activities in the sub-region.
Since education is one of the priority areas of the Children of Africa Foundation’s activities, the wife of the Head of State has agreed to preside over this ceremony. “(…) As President of an International Foundation for Children, and First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, education has always been one of the priority areas in my projects. That is why I have accepted to be the godmother of the inauguration ceremony of this day. This important event marks a turning point in the training and transmission of knowledge to the continent’s future leaders “she explained. For the First Lady, Africa needs to develop “its network of decision makers” to ensure social and economic growth.
