Meeting: Jocelyne Beroard pays a courtesy call to Dominique Ouattara

Present in Abidjan as part of the promotion of a book on the history of the mythical West Indian group KASSAV entitled: “_Far from the bitter_”, Ms. Jocelyne Beroard, the singer of the group, paid a courtesy call to the First Lady Dominique Ouattara, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at her office in Cocody.

During this meeting, the exchanges focused on the work of the singer. Also, because of the warm and historical ties that bind this group to the country, Ms. Jocelyne Beroard offered a copy of the book to the wife of the Head of State. “I came to present my book to the First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire because this country is really in our heart (…) The first concert of the group in Africa took place in Côte d’Ivoire, and allowed us to explode in all Africa. We must also note the way we were welcomed and the pleasant stay we had  in Ivory Coast. This country is in our hearts, and as I wrote a book on the history of KASSAV where I talk about it, I wanted to offer a copy to the First Lady. Naturally, the First Lady received the book with great simplicity. I think she was very happy and will enjoy reading it,” she explained after the meeting.

The book is composed of 53 chapters that include song excerpts translated into French. It is a book that immerses the reader in the West Indies or a part of the Caribbean education while highlighting the career of the singer within the mythical group KASSAV.
