Beauty competition: The First Lady presents gifts to Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2024 and her runners-up
The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, hosted a reception in honor of Miss Marie-Emmanuelle Diamala, Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2024, and her runners-up, on Wednesday November 20, 2024, in Cocody.
First Lady Dominique Ouattara, who was absent from the country when the competition was held last June, personally expressed her admiration and pride at the election of her goddaughters. “(…) on June 29, you were selected Beauty Queens of our country. I would like to congratulate you on this brilliant election, which positions you today as models and references for our young girls”, she congratulated. After praising their great beauty, the First Lady was pleased to see that her goddaughters had decided to get involved in humanitarian work for the benefit of the underprivileged. “(…) I am also delighted to see that you are carrying out social actions for vulnerable people. Your commitment touches me deeply. I encourage you to continue on this path, to bring happiness and joy to those around you”, said Mrs Dominique Ouattara. The First Lady also congratulated her goddaughters on their participation in international competitions. The wife of the Head of State also congratulated COMICI and Mr. Victor Yapobi for organizing the Miss Côte d’Ivoire contest, which remains one of Côte d’Ivoire’s showcases.
Mr. Yapobi thanked the First Lady from the bottom of his heart for her tireless support in organizing the Miss Côte d’Ivoire pageant. Indeed, Mr. Victor emphasized that the wife of the Head of State helps him every year to organize the contest.
Mrs Marie-Emmanuelle Diamala, Fatoumata Coulibaly, 1st runner-up, and Nadine Maulani Konan, 2nd runner-up, in turn thanked their godmother for all her actions for the underprivileged.
The First Lady also presented gifts to her goddaughters during the ceremony. After presenting her goddaughters with Wax loincloth suits, she also gave 2 million F CFA to Miss 2024, and 1 million F CFA to each of her runners-up. Finally, the First Lady offered 1 million F CFA to the parents of the three winners.
