Audience: The First Lady, Madame Dominique Ouattara, met with the President of the French Secular Mission
The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara received Mr. Christian Masset, President of the French Secular Mission, accompanied by Mr. Jean-Marc Merriaux, General Manager of the organization, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her offices in Cocody.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the rebirth of this iconic establishment, a symbol of educational excellence in Côte d’Ivoire, and the festivities planned to celebrate the 10ᵉ anniversary of its reopening. “First of all, it was a very great honor to be received by the First Lady. First, it was about 10 years since the reopening Jean Mermoz Highschool, of which the First Lady is the godmother. She played an important role in supporting the revival of the school,” said Christian Masset, President of the French Secular Mission.
The godmother expressed her deep gratitude to Mr. Masset and his team for their constant commitment to education in Côte d’Ivoire. She also praised the solid and fruitful partnership that the Mission maintains with the country, contributing to the influence of international education.
Let’s recall that the Jean Mermoz Highschool reopened its doors on September 1, 2014. It is managed by the Ivorian Secular (MLCI) created by the the French Secular Mission (MLF).
First of all, it was a great honor to be received by the First Lady. First, it was about the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the Jean Mermoz Highschool, of which the First Lady is the godmother. She has played an important role in supporting the revival of the school. In 2014, she offered the peacocks that were the mascots of this establishment, which had been closed for 10 years, as you know. And so she offered the peacocks, and they came back and accompanied an exceptional rebirth of this high school of excellence, academic excellence, excellence also in international openness and cultures, which now has 2,500 students and is one of the finest establishments on the entire African continent.
My name is Jean-Marc Pério, I’m the managing director of l’ami sur lec worldwide, but I’m also president of the mission in Côte d’Ivoire, so I’m also involved in the day-to-day running of the school, so this complementarity with the president of the French mission means that we’re able to support the school in its development and academic excellence, in particular yesterday we had a very good colloquium as part of the commemoration of the school’s pedagogical challenges around the plurinuil around the internationalization of these programs. and so here we are, fully supporting the establishment in its development. All right, thank you very much, thank you once again.
