Audience: First Lady grants audience to Lions Club First International Vice-President

As part of his official visit to Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. A.P Singh, First International Vice-President of the Lions Club, was received in audience by the First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, this Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her offices in Cocody.

Mr. Singh was accompanied by a delegation comprising Mrs. Sanguita Jatia, former International Director, Mr. Jean-Claude Crino, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Lions Club International, and Mr. Daniel Sampa, member of the Chairman’s cabinet. “We are from Lions Club International, the world’s largest service club organization, and we are visiting Côte d’Ivoire. As part of our visit, we wanted to pay a courtesy call on the First Lady, who was kind enough to receive us,” said Jean-Claude Crino, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Lions Club and spokesman for the delegation.

This courtesy visit is in line with the humanitarian and social actions of Lions Club International, an organization recognized worldwide for its commitment to mutual aid, solidarity and human development. “(…) We really came to encourage our clubs and our members to work in symbiosis and within the framework of the guidelines set by the national authorities, and to see that in the field there is already a great deal of collaboration between what the First Lady is doing in the social field and the mission of service fulfilled by the club in relation to the communities, and that gave us enormous pleasure. We encourage the club to enter into much closer relations with The First Lady and the national authorities to amplify the impact of the services we render to the communities”, declared Mr. Jean-Claude Crino, spokesman for the delegation.

During the meeting, the First Lady expressed her gratitude to Mr. Singh and his delegation for their approach, and praised the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote high-impact social causes, particularly in the fields of health, education and support for vulnerable populations. She also wished the entire delegation a warm welcome and success on their mission to Côte d’Ivoire.

From July 1, 2025, Mr. A.P. Singh will be the Lions Club International President for the entire world. This organization has 1,400,000 members. It is active in 205 countries.
