Daloa: Women pay tribute to First Lady Dominique Ouattara

On Friday, October 10, 2025, the CAFOP stadium in Daloa was buzzing with excitement and emotion. Women from the Haut-Sassandra region organized a big ceremony to pay tribute to the First Lady, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, for her unwavering commitment to serve the women and children of the country.
Marked by gratitude and solidarity, this celebration brought together thousands of women from all over the Haut-Sassandra region, eager to show their affection and deep gratitude to the woman they consider as their true mother and benefactor. Several political, administrative, and traditional leaders also took part in this event, which was filled with fervor and emotion.
A lifetime of commitment to serving women and children
For several decades, even before her husband, President Alassane Ouattara, became head of state, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara has been known for her dedication to serving the well-being of women and children. Through the Children of Africa Foundation, she works tirelessly to protect and nurture young children, but also to empower women through donations, training, and funding programs.
In Daloa, the First Lady once again demonstrated her commitment to her sisters with a significant show of solidarity: donations totaling 500 million CFA francs were made to support women’s income-generating activities and strengthen health facilities in the region. These donations include three ambulances, medical supplies, and various health equipment to improve the quality of care provided to the population.
Upcoming renovation of the Dominique Ouattara maternity ward in Daloa
Mrs. Dominique Ouattara announced the upcoming renovation of the Dominique Ouattara maternity ward in the Orly district of Daloa, a project that will surely make the local population happy. She also offered 12.5 million CFA francs to women who came to attent the ceremony.
In her speech, the First Lady expressed her gratitude for this wonderful show of affection: “I would like to express my deep gratitude to my sisters in Haut-Sassandra who have paid tribute to me for my actions on behalf of women in Côte d’Ivoire, and especially those in Daloa. I am very touched by this outpouring of love and I thank you from the bottom of my heart,“ she said. She also encouraged women to keep on working for the development of the country under the governance of President Alassane Ouattara: ” I know I can count on your support for the re-election of President Alassane Ouattara, a man who has always been committed to the well-being of our people. Together, united and strong, we will continue to build a prosperous and united Côte d’Ivoire,” she added.
The First Lady also highlighted the major achievements of her Foundation, including the Children of Africa School of Excellence in Abobo in the field of education; the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital for maternal and child health; the Adiaké Safe Home for Women, dedicated to the protection and reintegration of women victims of violence; as well as numerous shelters and donation programs for disadvantaged women and children.
Speakers Unanimously pay tribute to the First Lady
One after another, speakers praised the First Lady’s humanitarian work and social vision.
Mr. Mamadou Touré, Minister of Youth and President of the Haut-Sassandra Regional Council, paid a glowing tribute to Mrs. Dominique Ouattara for her decisive role in the fight against child labor. He noted that her commitment had enabled Côte d’Ivoire to avoid an embargo on the cocoa industry, thereby contributing to the stability of the price per kilogram, which is currently set at 2,800 CFA francs.
For her part, Mrs. Nassénéba Touré, Minister of Women, Family, and Children, representing Mrs. Kandia Kamissoko Camara, praised the First Lady’s ongoing commitment to vulnerable populations.
Rachel Gogoua, spokesperson for the women of Haut-Sassandra expressed women’s deep gratitude and admiration for the Ivorian First Lady.
The Mayor of Daloa, Mr. Stéphane Gbeuly Auguste, emphasized the essential role played by the First Lady alongside President Alassane Ouattara in the harmonious development of the country.
The colorful and emotional ceremony was punctuated by musical performances by renowned artists such as Affou Keïta, Nahounou Paulin, the group Révolution, and many others, who came to celebrate this memorable day.
As a token of their gratitude, the people of Haut-Sassandra also presented their distinguished guest with numerous gifts.
