Christmas Tree 2025: Mrs. Dominique Ouattara brings Christmas magic to 3,000 children

The First Lady, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, President of the Children Of Africa Foundation, presided over the celebration of the Foundation’s traditional Christmas Tree 2025 on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Presidential Palace in Plateau.

The ceremony took place in the gardens of the Presidential Palace in the presence of numerous authorities, partners, and actors committed to the protection of children.

The 2025 edition of the Children Of Africa Foundation Christmas Tree was held under the theme of children’s creativity, highlighting imagination, dreams, and artistic expression as levers for a better future. Creative workshops, songs, dances, and entertainment punctuated the day, much to the delight of the children. In addition, a drawing contest on the theme “Draw your favorite hero with Santa Claus” attracted particular attention. Numerous associations, protection centers, schools, hospitals, and organizations working with children took part in the celebration. Children from Bouaké, the municipalities of Abidjan, orphanages, partner NGOs, and public and private institutions helped make this event a moment of sharing and fraternity.

In an atmosphere filled with joy, laughter, and wonder, nearly 3,000 children aged 3 to 9 from diverse backgrounds were the guests of honor at this grand celebration dedicated to childhood. They had the opportunity to interact with renowned artists such as Serge Beynaud, DJ Kedjevara, Abomet l’Eléphant, and many others. They also marvelled at an acrobatic show, with Kia and his Bouldegums clowns providing entertainment during the first part of the show with games, dance competitions and many other activities.

Once again this year, thousands of children gathered in the garden of the Presidential Palace to cheerfully welcome Santa Claus as he arrived by helicopter “from the North Pole.” After landing, Santa Claus was escorted by superheroes such as Iron Man, Wolverine, and Captain America. Madame Dominique Ouattara’s young guests were treated to a whole host of exciting activities at the 2025 Christmas tree celebration.

In her speech, the First Lady expressed her joy at seeing the children again and sharing with them this festive moment, which has become a tradition dear to her heart. “Christmas is a time when generosity, tenderness, and love take on their full meaning. You only have to see a happy child to understand the true magic of this holiday,” said Mrs. Dominique Ouattara.

Mrs. Dominique Ouattara expressed her gratitude to the Foundation’s partners, notably the Coffee and Cocoa Council, La Vache Qui Rit, Dolait, and Nestlé (Milo and Nido), for their loyalty, generosity, and ongoing commitment to children. She also praised the discreet but essential work of the volunteers of the Children Of Africa Foundation, whose involvement makes it possible each year to bring the magic of Christmas to the most vulnerable children.

A message of hope and love

At the end of the ceremony, the First Lady addressed a heartfelt message to the children, encouraging them to continue dreaming, laughing, and believing in a bright future. She wished everyone a peaceful new year filled with health, serenity, and hope.

Nine-year-old Sangare Rana, spokesperson for the children from Bouake, thanked the First Lady for the love she shows to thousands of children at the Christmas tree celebration. “Your kindness and generosity make children’s dreams come true,” she said.

A cocktail reception was held for the many guests in the garden of the Presidential Palace.

The 2025 edition of the Children Of Africa Foundation Christmas party will once again remain a highlight of solidarity, humanity, and love shared around children.
