FEMUA 18: Magic System Presents Program and Details to First Lady Dominique Ouattara
First Lady Dominique Ouattara received members of the famous Ivorian Zouglou group Magic System in an audience on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at her office in Cocody. This meeting is part of the ongoing preparations for FEMUA, a major cultural event in the country, of which the First Lady has been the honorary patron since its inception.
Mr. Traore Salif, known as Asalfo, accompanied by the other members of the group, presented Mrs. Ouattara with the main features of the 18th edition of FEMUA, scheduled from April 28 to May 3, 2026. The main venues are the INJS (National Institute of Youth and Sports) and the French Institute of Côte d’Ivoire, with an extension to Dimbokro.
This visit is part of a long-standing tradition, Asalfo explained: “It’s customary that each time FEMUA approaches, we visit to receive her blessings and her wise advice before the launch of this year’s festival. Mrs. Dominique Ouattara is our honorary patron. As I always say, she’s our patron for life. At every FEMUA, we come to present her with the festival and all its content. So, we are here to present the details of FEMUA 18 to her, along with her blessings and input.”
He added: “She followed all the stages remotely due to her travels, and it was a real pleasure to meet her. We also presented her with the group’s program and tour.”
This year, FEMUA 18 will highlight Gabon, the special guest, which will share the richness of its culture with the public through performances, exhibitions, and artistic encounters.
Mrs. Dominique Ouattara praised Magic System’s ongoing commitment to promoting culture and youth development. She emphasized that FEMUA is a key cultural event, showcasing the talent of local artists while fostering international exchange.
The theme of this 2026 edition of FEMUA is: “Artificial Intelligence : Threat or Opportunity for Africa?” More than 100,000 festival-goers are expected to attend concerts featuring renowned artists such as Youssou N’Dour, Meiway, Black M, Didi B, Roselyne Layo, Fatoumata Diawara, and DJ Kedjevara.
