20 years after Houphouët-Boigny’s death
The Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire would not remain on the sidelines of ceremonies commemorating the 20th anniversary of the death of President Houphouët- Boigny, taking place in Côte d' Ivoire. To this end, the diplomatic representation of Côte d'Ivoire in Paris held Saturday, Dec. 7 a Mass at 11am (local time) in the parish of Saint -Honoré Eylau in the 16th arrondissement. In the foreground, First Lady Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, Mrs. Henriette Konan , wife of the President of the PDCI- RDA , Ambassadors Charles Gomis, head of the diplomatic mission and Houphouet Boigny Denis, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate to Unesco and many others.
The priest, His Lordship Xavier Rambaub, vicar , said the question is not to know whether what Félix Houphouët- Boigny did was good or bad . As he say , history and memory are oriented towards recognition.
While addressing prayers for the deceased , Bishop Xavier Rambaud , inspired by Saint -Ambroise , urged the audience to exercise power for those who hold it with " humility , simplicity and judgment"
