4th edition of Abidjan, pearl of lights
And there was light! Abidjan has put on her best dress for the celebrations of the end of year. The launching of the 4th edition of Abidjan, pearl of lights has been held, on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Place Henri Konan Bédié in Riviera Golf, by the First Lady Dominique Ouattara. After twelve (12) months of hard work, new Ivorian can contemplate the lights that will beautify the streets and bridges of the city of Abidjan. To do so, this 4th edition, Abidjan, pearl of lights in line with the time. Indeed, the District of Abidjan wanted to enhance for this edition of Abidjan, city of lights, the Henri Konan Bédié bridge.
Godmother of the ceremony, the First Lady Dominique Ouattara welcomed this initiative of the District of Abidjan which has now become a tradition. "The festive illuminations, which aims at unifying in many instances, now operates henceforth as a star attraction in the heart and minds of Ivorians, for the joy it imparts to us by its beauty but also for the convivial moments it creates", welcomed the wife of the head of state. Like all Ivorians, the First Lady expressed all the impatience that inspired her to see the illuminations. She welcomed the fact that this year, the festivities of the end year are experiencing particular turmoil due to the opening of the Henri Konan Bédié bridge. Mrs. Dominique Ouattara closed by whishing happy new year holidays to everyone.
Hamed Bakayoko, Minister of State, Minister of the Interior and Security commended the First Lady Dominique Ouattara for her personal involvement in this project. He reminded and praised her consistency in her commitments. It’s a consistency that allowed her to put into practice her love for her neighbor through her humanitarian activities. Thus, the State Minister welcomed the commitment of the First Lady for the well-being of children, women, but also for the construction of the mother-child hospital of Bingerville which will open this year 2015.
