On the sidelines of the 6th African Union-European Union (AU-EU) summit taking place in Brussels, Belgium, Queen Mathilde opened the doors of the Royal Palace to Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
Since the personalities know and admire each other, the reunion was held in a good atmosphere.
Upon her arrival the First Lady was welcomed by Queen Mathilde, the two personalities took some pictures in order to capture the moment.
It was a private meeting far from cameras and witnesses, Queen Mathilde and the First Lady exchanged views for more than thirty minutes.
At the end of the meeting First Lady Dominique Ouattara spoke to the press: “I had an extremely pleasant meeting with Queen Mathilde I had already met last year. It was a pleasure to meet again. We talked about our respective interests, and we saw that we share common interests, these are child protection and promotion of children’s rights. We talked a lot about the children’s Hospital of Bingerville, as you know, I will visit the Queen Fabiola Hospital later on. We also talked about addressing Child Labor issue. As you know, this is one the reasons why I came to Belgium. It was very interesting and we had a very pleasant time,”.
