Culture: First Lady Dominique Ouattara Receives Artist Charlotte Dipanda
Three days before her major concert at the Cultural Center in Abidjan, Cameroonian star Charlotte Dipanda was received in audience by First Lady Dominique Ouattara on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at her offices in Cocody.
The atmosphere was one of reunion this Wednesday at the First Lady’s office. The connection between First Lady Dominique Ouattara and Charlotte Dipanda is not new. The artist has, in the past, lent her voice and image to humanitarian causes supported by the Children of Africa Foundation. It was therefore quite natural that the diva of African music wished to pay a courtesy visit to the woman she considers a champion of the arts.
At the heart of the discussions: Charlotte Dipanda’s concert scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Anoumabo Hall. The artist made a point of officially presenting this event to the First Lady, thus demonstrating her respect for Ivorian hospitality.
After the meeting, the singer of “Coucou” didn’t hide her emotion: “It seemed perfectly natural to request an audience and meet her. I wanted to first tell her about my presence here in Abidjan and, of course, present my event to her.”
For Charlotte Dipanda, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara’s availability sends a powerful message to the entire African cultural community. “She is so kind, and it’s truly a pleasure. I think Côte d’Ivoire, and indeed other African nations, are very fortunate to have such an accessible First Lady. She is genuinely involved in the lives of all ambassadors, whether cultural or otherwise,” revealed Charlotte Dipanda.
Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, for her part, congratulated the artist on her exemplary career and offered her best wishes for the success of this show, which is already shaping up as one of the major cultural events of 2026 in Abidjan.
