Death of Mohamed Ky: First Lady Dominique Ouattara Offers the Presidential Couple’s Support to the Toungara Family
First Lady Dominique Ouattara visited the Toungara family home in Cocody on Monday, June 15, 2026, to offer the condolences of the presidential couple following the death of Mohamed Ky, son of the Honorable Amy Toungara and Adama Toungara.
For this visit, Mrs. Ouattara was accompanied by a large delegation, including Maïmouna Koné, wife of the Vice-President of the Republic; Touré Mamadou, Minister of Youth Promotion, Professional Integration, and Civic Service, who served as spokesperson for the delegation; as well as several other dignitaries and members of her staff.
Speaking on behalf of the First Lady, Mr. Touré Mamadou expressed the profound sadness felt by the presidential couple upon learning of the death of Mr. Mohamed Ky. He recalled the close and fraternal ties that have united the Ouattara and Toungara families for many years. “A few days ago, the First Lady learned with great sadness of the passing of the son of the Honorable Amy Toungara and her husband. This sad news has deeply affected everyone. (…) The presidential couple was particularly moved and saddened by this news because the Toungaras are very close to the Ouattaras,” the spokesperson for the First Lady’s delegation stated.
