First Lady donated Francs CFA 30 million FCFA to the women of the Department of Géléban The First Lady has provided grants worth 30 million CFA Francs
The 37th International Women's Day (IWD ) which theme was "Women at Work for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and the emergence of the Cote d' Ivoire " was celebrated as last year, throughout Côte d' Ivoire. In Gbéléban , Cissé Nabintou , the mother of the President of the Republic of Côte d' Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara was no exception to this rule. The public square of the village proved tiny to celebrate women in the department, so that the ceremony was deported on the village’s football ground.
The festivities took place throughout the weekend at Gbéléban . Beyond the festivities , the women of Gbéléban Department , who came from the Sub- prefectures of Seydougou , Samangoh and Gbéléban ( Capital of the Department ) have found , this Saturday, March 8, 2014 , around Mrs. Aissata OUATTARA Keita’s wife , younger sister of President Alassane Ouattara and Godmother of the IWD to go through gender issues with a fine-toothed comb, and find concrete solutions to problems that plague the lives of women in this rural area. Thus, addressing the concerns of women of the Department of Gbéléban , the Godmother of the 37th edition of the IWD congratulated her sisters of Gbélébankans " for their hard work and fighting spirit, and was especially pleased by the generosity of the First lady, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara. "I know […] that characterizes the woman Gbéléban. Your fighting spirit, your hard work, your dedication to children, your courage, all these virtues that make you dignified women and proud to be lovely women. I also know that you are the pillars of your families. You have a lot of projects and farms, " she said , before adding : " You also grow lettuce, cabbage , tomatoes , cucumbers, etc. , essential crops for our food security . "
Also, Cissé Aïssata stated that it would ensure to end the evils that destroy the lives of women Gbéléban : " We will ensure that you have modern means of production. You also do fishing because mom told us that the Gbéléban Bâ ( the great Gbéléban river, ed) is rich in fish, you need now proper equipment , adapted engine fishing canoes, together with nets, conservation and drying facilities " .
