Flood in Tiassalé, N’Douci and Bilahio

After Abidjan, the caravan of solidarity initiated by the First Lady set sail within the country on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. The heavy rain on Tuesday, June 19, resulted in one death and more than 350 victims in Tiassalé and N'Douci. In Bilahio, the rain caused one death and two (02) wounded. Informed of this  tragedy caused by the rain, the First Lady sent members of her cabinet led by Mrs. Cissé Aïssatou, Head of Education Department, to the populations affected by this tragedy.

To this end, the First Lady made cash and in-kind donations to the bereaved families, to the victims of the three (03) localities. These are rice, sugar, oil cans, boxes of tomato, pasta, mattresses, mats, water containers, chairs, lots of pans, cartons of soaps, cartons of jars of bleach and mops. In addition, she offered 500,000 F CFA to each bereaved family. Then she offered 500,000 CFA to the victims of Tiassalé and N'Douci. In Bilahio, she offered 100,000 CFA francs to the family.

The tour started by the locality of Tiassalé. In this commune, the donation ceremony was held at the meeting room of the prefecture in presence of Mr. Kouakou Yao, Secretary General of the Prefecture, Mr. Sylla Choilio, Mayor of Tiassalé and Mrs. Soumahoro Sarah, Vice-prefect of Tiassalé. Mrs. Cissé Aïssatou conveyed the message of solidarity and compassion to the people. "Mrs. Dominique Ouattara will always be at your side to support you. She wants you to stay strong, " she said.
