Funding Women’s micro-projects in Abengourou
Nine (09) months after her first visit in Abengourou, First Lady Dominique Ouattara, once again, provided support to women in Abengourou. Indeed, thanks to the state visit in the Indénié-Djuablin, First Lady Dominique Ouattara offered, on Friday, September 18, 2015, checks of the Support Fund of Côte d’Ivoire Women (FAFCI) worth CFA francs 232 million and donations in kind and cash of 174 million FCFA to women Abengourou. The delivery ceremony of the gifts and the FAFCI checks took place within the premises of Abengourou CAFOP. As part of the gifts in kind, the First Lady Dominique Ouattara has offered all the necessary equipment for the strengthening and improvement of income-generating activities for women, but also for the improvement of the living conditions of the populations of the department. Thus, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara has offered equipment for women’s cooperatives and groups engaged in agriculture. The traders, restaurant managers, and hairdressers have also benefited of donations to strengthen their activities. Social centers and women's centers have also received many gifts for their operation. In the field of education, kindergartens, primary schools, secondary and high schools received educational materials and cleaning products. Mrs. Dominique Ouattara has also provided a brand new ambulance, biomedical materials and equipment for the health centers of the department. She also provided textbooks, tricycles and crutches for disabled people. The value of these donations in kind: CFA francs 170 million. The First Lady also gave CFA francs 4 million to the population.
As for each of the delivery ceremonies of the FAFCI checks, women were treated to a feast. Ehui Meiway Frédéric Anselme Seni and Mawa Traoré gave a festive dimension to this ceremony. The women of Abengourou department headed by the First Lady, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara did not hide their pleasure. The tone went up a notch with the surprising arrival of President Alassane Ouattara, the surprise of the day, to women’s Abengourou. Indeed, President Alassane Ouattara held in person to testify his support to the happy beneficiaries of the FAFCI and donations of the First Lady.
