Induction ceremony for the new Emperor of Japan: The First Lady meets with the wife of the Prime Minister of Japan and visits the Center Hospital of the National Center for Global Health and Medicine in Tokyo

On the sidelines of the induction ceremony for Prince Naruhito, the new Emperor of Japan, First Lady Dominique Ouattara had a meeting on Monday, October 21, 2019, in Tokyo, with Mrs Akié ABE, wife of the Prime Minister of Japan.

During this meeting, the two First Ladies exchanged views on their respective countries.

At the end of the meeting, Ms Dominique Ouattara said she was  pleased to meet Ms Akié Abe after they both met in Nairobi, Kenya in August 2016 during TICAD VI.

After this meeting, Mrs Dominique Ouattara visited the Tokyo Global Medical Center. Founded in 1868, the hospital has several specialities including paediatrics, gynaecology and the treatment of infectious diseases.

First Lady Dominique OUATTARA was delighted to visit this Centre, especially the Mother and Child centre. She stressed the importance of such a visit because, according to her, it is always useful to see what is being done elsewhere to improve yourslef. Mrs Dominique Ouattara also wished to establish a partnership between the Mother and Child’s Hospital of Bingerville and Center Hospital of the National Center for Global Health and Medicine of Tokyo.
