Meeting: First Lady Dominique Ouattara met with Adama Diawara, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research

First Lady Dominique Ouattara received Adama Diawara, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in a meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at her offices in Cocody.

Two issues were at the heart of this meeting: a proposal from the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science, and Culture (ICESCO) and the academic career of the eleven Ivorian girls who are recipients of the Dominique Ouattara Excellence Scholarship.

The Minister of Higher Education came to inform the First Lady of ICESCO’s proposal that Mrs. Dominique Ouattara accept the role of Goodwill Ambassador. “The purpose was to present the First Lady with a letter from the Director-General of ICESCO, who hopes she will agree to serve as ICESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador,” the minister explained following the meeting.

The second topic discussed during this meeting concerned the eleven Ivorian female students who are recipients of the Dominique Ouattara Excellence Scholarship. These young women were selected to pursue training in the field of civil aviation in Morocco.

After two years of preliminary training at the International University of Rabat, they are set to enroll at the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation in Casablanca. There, they will complete their three-year engineering program. “We are working to ensure that this transition from the International University of Rabat to the Civil Aviation Academy goes smoothly so that they can complete their three-year engineering program,” Adama Diawara explained.
