Meeting with representatives of the World Bank
Mr ANTONY VERHEIJEN, the World Bank’s Director of Operations for Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Guinea and Togo, and Ms JOSIANE KWENDA, a representative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a limited private sector part of the World Bank Group, paid a courtesy call on the First Lady on Tuesday, September 03, 2024 at 12 noon.
The aim of this courtesy visit was to exchange views with the First Lady on their activities, and to explore collaboration possibility.
In return, the First Lady to her guest the kind of projects she is currently focusing on. Mr ANTONY VERHEIJEN went on to tell the First Lady that they would like to see how the public and private sectors could contribute.
Antony said he had also spoken with the First Lady about Universal Health Coverage, where both he and Josiane KWENDA are already very active. They focused on the challenges to be met and the implementation of the system, which is highly ambitious in terms of the objectives to be achieved, as well as the constraints that exist.
