Modernization of administrative procedures :ONECI General Manager presents two major innovations to the First Lady, Mrs Dominique OuattaraModernization of administrative procedures :
On Tuesday January 7, 2025, the Director General of the National Identification and Birth Registration (ONECI), Mr. Ago Christian Kodia, presented two revolutionary initiatives to the First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara.
These innovations include the national identity cards for children aged 5 and over, and registration of births directly from maternity wards. These efforts are designed to simplify and modernize administrative procedures for citizens, reinforcing access to civil identity from the earliest age.
During the meeting, Mr. Ago Christian Kodia personally handed over specimens of the first national identity cards for children, including those of the First Lady’s grandchildren.
These projects show ONECI’s determination to facilitate access to administrative services. After the audience, the General Manager explained to journalists the purpose of the meeting.
“I am honored to meet the First Lady to explain to her the work we do at ONECI. We make national identity cards, especially for children aged 5 and over. So I had the honor of presenting her with her grandchildren’s first national identity card, but also to tell her a little about ONECI’s prospects in terms of birth registration for children”, he declared. Regarding birth registration, the CEO revealed that from now on, it will be possible to declare newborns from kindergarten onwards. “(…) which means , the civil registration officer will already issue the birth certificate from the maternity ward. I came to present this program to her and it will be launched in all the major hospitals in Côte d’Ivoire,” said Mr. Ago Christian Kodia.
These major initiatives mark an important step in the digital transformation and improvement of public services in Côte d’Ivoire.
