Mother and child health : Mrs. Ana Dias Lourenço, First Lady of the Republic of Angola, visits the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital
On Thursday June 27, 2024, as part of H.E.M. João Lourenço’s 48-hour friendship and working visit to Côte d’Ivoire, Mrs Ana Dias Lourenço, First Lady of the Republic of Angola, visited the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital. The First Lady of Angola was accompanied by Mrs Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire.
The two personalities took a guided tour of several of the hospital’s departments. The First Ladies began their tour in the main hall. They then visited the pediatric consultations and the Maternal Assisted Reproduction (MAP) department. The presentation was done by Dr Kourouma Noumoutchè, Head of the MAR Department. He revealed that this specialized service has 122 live births to its credit. 80 women who have benefited from the service’s assistance are pregnant. The service is attended by patients from 19 nationalities. Mrs. Dominique Ouattara and Mrs. Ana Dias Lourenço then visited the neonatal unit, the amphitheater and the pediatric oncology ward, where they presented gifts to the children. The visit ended in the boardroom, where the two First Ladies exchanged views.
It is important to note that the two First Ladies made no statements after the visit. After this visit, the First Lady of Angola was received by Mrs Dominique Ouattara for lunch at the Presidential Residence.
