OAFLAD is 20 years: First Lady Dominique Ouattara arrives in Kinshasa to take part in the festivities

First Lady Dominique Ouattara, arrived in Kinshasa on Thursday June 15, 2023.  On her arrival, the First Lady was welcomed at the airport by Ms Eve Bazaiba, Minister of State, Minister of  Environment, representing Ms Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, First Lady of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The wife of the Head of State is in the DRC to take part in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), in the company of her fellow First Ladies.

Starting on June 17, 2023, three major events are planned to mark the organization’s anniversary. Firstly, a conference to be held at the Palais du peuple, which will enable participants to discuss the challenges and issues still to be met in OAFLAD’s various fields of action.  Afterwards, the First Ladies and other guests will have the opportunity to visit the “OAFLAD Village” set up within the Académie des Beaux-Arts, which will be open to the public from June 15 to 18, 2023. The celebrations will close with a gala dinner to raise funds for the organization’s future projects.
