Opening of an art exhibition

The inauguration of the second art exhibition by Princess Ira de Fürstenberg, patron of Children of Africa Foundation took place on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in the hall of the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire.

The event witnessed the participation of several officials including the President of the Republic HE Alassane Ouattara; Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, President of Children of Africa Foundation; Vice president Daniel Kablan Duncan and his wife, Mrs. Clarisse Duncan; Mr. Maurice Kouakou Bandama, Minister of Culture and Francophonie; Mr. Abdoul Karim Sango, Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism of Burkina Faso.

A hundred rare pieces of rock crystal and semi-precious stones will be sold from Wednesday 24 to Thursday 25 April 2019 for the benefit of Children of Africa Foundation. Each piece of this collection has been hand-crafted and bears the prestigious signature of Princess Ira de Fürstenberg.

During the opening ceremony, Princess Ira de Fürstenberg gave the reason for holding this exhibition. “For the second time, I am presenting this unique collection to you. I have created with all my heart the pieces to be sold for the benefit of Children of Africa Foundation”, she said.

According to Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, the benefit will be used to provide furniture and  equipment to the House of Life of the Bingerville Mother and Child’s Hospital. She took advantage of the ceremony to present the house of life. “The MCH’s House of Life is in the hospital compound, it was generously built by the Lalla Salma Foundation of Morocco. The building will be used to house child-patients and their mothers.

It will mainly receive children coming from other cities in the country or neighboring countries, for temporary accommodation during their treatment “she said. According to the President of Children Of Africa, the House of Life has 24 rooms for a total of 48 beds, a classroom, a dinning room, two playrooms and six rooms for the management team.

Note that the exhibition opens its doors to the public on Wednesday 24 and Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 11 am to 8pm. During these two days, fans and art lovers will be able to discover these unique design that is  put on sale for the benefit of  Children of Africa.
