The First Lady, Madame Dominique Ouattara, received in audience, this Wednesday April 23, 2025, at her offices in Cocody, Mr. Alexandre Roquette, Director General of the European Cancer Institute in Abidjan.

The meeting was part of a strategic partnership between the Mother and Child’s Hospital in Bingerville, the Children Of Africa Foundation and the European Cancer Institute, with the aim of improving care for children with cancer in Côte d’Ivoire.

As part of this collaboration, the partners intend to set up a coordinated care pathway, combining treatments with radiotherapy sessions that will now be provided at the Cancer Institute, also located in Bingerville. We are going to combine our efforts to create a common care pathway, with chemotherapy currently carried out at the Mother and Child’s Hospital and radiotherapy to be carried out at the Institut European Cancer Institute in Bingerville,” declared Alexandre Roquette, CEO of the Abidjan European Cancer Institute.

The First Lady praised Mr. Roquette’s initiative, and expressed her gratitude for the hope it brings to many families facing the battle against childhood cancer.
