The 27th Partnership Meeting of the World Cocoa Foundation

World Cocoa Fund (WCF), whose theme  is "Population, Planet and Cocoa Economy in a Changing World", has started on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Radisson Blu Aiport Hotel  of Port-Bouët

 

The second day of the meeting was attended by Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, the First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire and Chairperson of the National Oversight Committee for Actions in the Fight Against Trafficking, Exploitation and Child Labor (CNS) as a special guest. Thus, the President of the (CNS) took advantage of this forum, which for the first time in Côte d'Ivoire gathers the key chocolate producing companies, members of the WCF and the cocoa producers, in order to explain the measures to combat child labor in cocoa farming, set up in Côte d'Ivoire. Thus, for Mrs Dominique Ouattara, President of the CNS, the theme of this meeting is of paramount importance because it gives the opportunity to adress the challenges of the sustainable development in cocoa economy, including the elimination of the worst Forms of child labor
