The fasting month of Ramadan

First Lady Dominique Ouattara offers donations worth 50 million CFA francs to Muslims for the fasting month of Ramadan. The donation ceremony took place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the office of the First Lady in Cocody.

The wife of the Head of State was represented at this ceremony by Mrs. Nadine Sangaré, Country Director of Children of Africa Foundation. The collaborator of the First Lady had by her side, Mrs. Rhokia Ouattara, younger sister of President Alassane Ouattara.

As in previous years, the mosques of the District of Abidjan and surrounding areas, the religious leaders and Muslim associations received sacks of rice, cartons of milk and pasta sachets.

On behalf of the First Lady, Nadine Sangaré gave a  message of support and solidarity. She said that these donations should be considered as a support to the muslim community. She invited religious leaders to deliver a message of love to their community.

On behalf of the muslim community, Sekou Sylla, the guest of honor at this ceremony, thanked the First Lady for her enthusiasm, solidarity and her commitment to assist  the needy.

Daoud Doumbia, spokesperson for the beneficiaries took this opportunity to  thank the First Lady for her constant concern for Muslims every year during the fasting month of Ramadan.

This year’s donations will be offered to religious leaders, mosques in the District of Abidjan and other cities of the country and 50 Muslim associations.
