The First Lady Hosts the Lebanese Ambassador: With just a few days to go before the 10th Children of Africa Foundation Gala Dinner, Ms. Magida Karaki reaffirmed the Lebanese community’s commitment to initiatives dedicated to youth
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, First Lady Dominique Ouattara received Her Excellency Magida Karaki, Ambassador of Lebanon to Côte d’Ivoire, at her offices.
This meeting allowed the Lebanese diplomat to pay her respects to the First Lady following her appointment as head of Lebanon’s diplomatic mission in Côte d’Ivoire. “I have come to pay my respects to Her Excellency the First Lady for the first time since my appointment as Lebanon’s Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire,” she said.
Youth at the Heart of the Discussions
The discussions also focused on the 10th Children of Africa Foundation Gala Dinner, scheduled for October 9 at the Palais des Congrès of the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire. This year’s event is dedicated to raising funds for the Youth Center project.
On this occasion, Ms. Magida Karaki expressed the Lebanese community’s desire to take part in this initiative. “On the eve of the gala, which is being organized in support of youth, I have come to express my community’s full commitment to this worthy cause,” she stated.
The Lebanese Ambassador also expressed her hope to see further development of opportunities for cooperation around this project. “We have come to explore together how we can cooperate more closely to bring this wonderful project to life and try to provide it with even more support,” she explained.
For the diplomat, supporting young people is a shared priority. “This is something very important and a top priority for us as well: supporting young people to build a better Côte d’Ivoire,” she emphasized.
Cooperation Set to Grow
This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the prospects for increased engagement by the Lebanese community alongside the Children of Africa Foundation, both in relation to the Youth Center project and other initiatives benefiting children and young people.
Ms. Magida Karaki, who has been in Côte d’Ivoire since September 2022—initially as Chargé d’Affaires—has served as Lebanon’s Ambassador since September 2023.
This meeting reflects the commitment to strengthening ties between Côte d’Ivoire and Lebanon through solidarity and cooperation, particularly in support of young people.
