The Mayor of Daoukro has passed away

The family of the Minister Thierry Tanoh was struck by the death of his uncle, Tanoh Kouadio Joseph, former director of Technical Education and Mayor of Daoukro.

Informed of this sad news, the First Lady paid a visit to the  bereaved family to express her condolences and those of the Head of State. On Friday, June 8, 2018 she went with an important delegation to the house of the deceased located at Riviera 3.

The First Lady was accompanied on this visit by Maurice Kouakou Bandama, Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Mrs. Clarisse Duncan, wife of the Vice-President, Mrs. Charles Gomis, wife of the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire in France and mother of the wife of the Minister Thierry Tanoh and wives of the Government and institution officials.

On behalf of the Presidential couple, the Minister Maurice Kouakou Bandama has expressed into touching words the pain they have felt after the announcement of the death of the uncle of Minister Thierry Tanoh. He recalled the fraternal relations between Mrs. Dominique Ouattara and the Minister of Petroleum and Renewable Energy Development. According to him, she paid a visit to the family  to show her support and comfort them. He also revealed that as a member of the family of the deceased, the First Lady has decided to contribute to the funeral arrangements. To do so, she offered five (05) million CFA francs to the family to meet the expenses related to the funeral arrangements.

Konan Henri, spokesman for the bereaved family, thanked the First Lady for this action of solidarity. "We would like to thank the First Lady for her comforting words and her support, we are deeply touched." he said. Tanoh Kouadio Joseph, the uncle of Minister Thierry Tanoh passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. He will be buried in the Catholic cemetery of Daoukro, Saturday, June 23, 2018.
