Worship service: The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, celebrates Christmas at the Parish of  Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus in Assinie

The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, celebrated the Nativity worship service in the Parish of  Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus in Assinie, on Tuesday December 24, 2024.  Surrounded by the catholic believers, she experienced a moment of contemplation and communion, marked by the spirit of fraternity and solidarity that characterizes this festive period.

The ceremony was presided over by Monsignor Raymond Ahoua, Bishop of the Diocese of Grand-Bassam, whose inspiring words recalled the values of peace at the heart of Christmas. Raymond Ahoua reminded us how important it is for mankind to follow in the footsteps of the Savior Jesus Christ. For him, it is on this condition that people will be able to live fully in the grace of Jesus, far from fear and dread.

He reminded the faithful of Christ’s titles: “Prince of Peace” and “Admirable Counselor”.

At the end of the celebration, the First Lady extended her warmest wishes to all Ivorians and all those living in Côte d’Ivoire. “I wanted to say that, like every year, I came to celebrate Christmas with the people of Assinie, as you know it’s also my home. I am happy to be here to pray with them. Finally, I’d like to wish all Ivorians and everyone living in Côte d’Ivoire a Merry Christmas”, declared the First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara.

the First Lady took this opportunity to make donations to the local population. Through her presence and actions, she continues to embody the spirit of Christmas, a spirit of self-giving and commitment to others.
