After the Ivorian cultural day at Evora Festival Africa in the south of Portugal, Mrs. Dominique Ouattara, First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire was received in audience by HE Mr. Marcelo de Rebelo, President of the Republic of Portugal on Sunday, July 30, 2018, in the afternoon. The audience took place at the Portuguese Presidential Palace and witnessed the presence of Mr. Maurice Kouakou Bandama, Minister of Culture and Francophonie.

During the meeting, the First Lady took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the Portuguese President for the legendary hospitality.

HE Marcelo de Rebelo, President of Portugal, welcomed the excellent relations between his country and Côte d’Ivoire. He said he enjoyed the performance of the group “Zaouli de Manfla”, a Unesco World Heritage and the performance of “les femmes battantes” whose melodies and the crackling sound of drums have seduced everyone. Both officials wished for an intensification of cultural cooperation.
