The First Lady of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, has decided to bring to life an electoral promise made by her husband, Mr. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, which is to make available to the women of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire a fund in the form of a loan, to help them create or expand their income-generating activities.<\/p>\n

About FAFCI<\/h2>\n

The FAFCI was created by decree n\u00b0 2012-1106 and is part of the implementation of the promise made by the President of the Republic to assist Ivorian women ;<\/p>\n

FAFCI is a low-interest credit fund with a capital of 26 billions FCFA.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

FAFCI’s objective is to enable women to access low-cost financial resources to create or strengthen income-generating activities. It also aims to train and sensitize women in the management of their income-generating activities.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

FAFCI achievements<\/h2>\n

FAFCI has helped finance income-generating activities for nearly 370,000 women to date, thanks to the involvement of decentralized financial systems (SFD). 58 billion CFA francs have been invested to date, with a repayment rate of 98%!<\/p>\n

Who can benefit from the fund?<\/p>\n

Ivorian women and women’s groups<\/p>\n

Women aged 21 or over<\/p>\n

Women with an income-generating activity project or who are engaged in an income-generating activity.<\/p>\n

Organizations and partners <\/h2>\n

The FAFCI is made up of the following bodies:<\/p>\n

The steering committee: responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and achievement of FAFCI objectives.<\/p>\n

The technical secretariat: this is the fund’s implementing body. It ensures compliance with the conditions for optimal use of the fund in line with project objectives.<\/p>\n

The communication unit: carries out the actions required to promote the FAFCI.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

The funds are held by Atlantic Bank, the financial partner of the Ivorian Fund for Women. They are made available to women who request them through microfinance partners UNACOOPEC, GESCI, Compagnie Africaine de Credit and ECOCRED MICROFINANCE, which have branches throughout the country. This enables all women, including those living in the most remote areas, to benefit from the fund.<\/p>\n
