Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am pleased to be here with you today for the donation of a  british bus, offered by the Smallburgh village in England, to the Children of Africa Foundation.

I would first of all like to acknowledge the presence of Mrs Harriet BALDWIN, British Minister of State for Africa. I am honoured by her presence and welcome her in Côte d’Ivoire.

I also extend my greetings to Mrs Joséphine GAULD, British Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire who made this donation possible.

I also welcome the wonderful initiative of our young sister Eunice KOKRASSET, and express my appreciation to the members of her family representing her to this ceremony.

This young Ivorian lady living in England has initiated this cultural exchange project called « Smallburgh to Abidjan », which enabled to mobilize the necessary resources for this bus donation to the Children of Africa Foundation.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today’s ceremony is particularly important to me as it directly affects the education of our children. Indeed, the bus we receive today will bring to 9 the total number of bookmobiles of the Chidren of Africa Foundation. I am particularly pleased that this typical English bus will certainly be a beautiful attraction for our young and older readers across the country.

As you probably know, the Children of Africa Foundation’s bookmobiles are equipped with thousands of books for children and young people; equipped with computers connected to the internet to introduce our children to computers and a screen for film and documentary screenings. All these activities bring joy to our children whenever the bookmobile is parked in schools or public places. The one we receive today, will have the singularity of being also a library to initiate our youth to the English language. Thank you for all the books we received this morning.

To this end, I would like to thank once more Mrs Harriet BALDWIN, and through her, the British Government, for supporting our foundation and its activities. I know our children will enjoy and profit from this new and original bookmobile.

Thank you.
