The Children Of Africa Foundation’s traditional Christmas tree kept all its promises this year. Thousands of children turned out on Thursday, December 21, 2023, in the garden of the Presidential Palace in the Plateau district.

3,000 children from all the areas of the Abidjan district, from the interior of the country and from some fifteen associations and NGOs enjoyed the magic of Christmas alongside Mrs Dominique Ouattara.

The guests of honor of this 2023 edition of the Christmas tree were kids from the city of Yamoussoukro.

Performances by famous performers such as Didi B, Abomé l’Eléphant, Dydy Yeman and KS Bloom gave a festive dimension to the event. Children and parents were happy to dance to the sounds of the latest hits.  Moments of joy and enchantment that allowed Mrs Dominique Ouattara’s little guests to spend some pleasant moments around the Children Of Africa Foundation Christmas tree.

The long-awaited moment of the celebration was the arrival of Santa Claus aboard his helicopter. After landing, he was escorted by iconic Disney characters such as Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Lady Bug, Bugs Bunny and many others, as well as the entire Pat ‘Patrouille.

As soon as they arrived, the kids were given snack and sandwiches offered by the Children Of Africa Foundation’s partners. They were then treated to games, dance competitions and a performance by clowns from the Bouldegums company. The children also visited the bouncy castles and make-up tent provided for the occasion.

Taking the floor, Mrs Dominique Ouattara recalled the importance of the Christmas spirit and season. For the President of the Children Of Africa Foundation, the festive season is a wonderful time for sharing and solidarity. “The holiday season is a wonderful time for sharing and celebrate life. It is y favourite moment of the year. It gives us the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments with our loved ones, filled with wonder and magic. And it’s in this same spirit that we organize Christmas tree every year, to fill our children’s hearts with joy”, said MrsDominique Ouattara. The wife of the Head of State took advantage of the occasion to present the activities and attractions that her team has cleverly prepared for her little guests. Mrs Dominique Ouattara ended her speech by hoping that Ivorians are filled with generosity and love.

“(…) My wish is that the generosity and love that prevail at this time will brighten our lives throughout the coming year,” She said.

Finally, each child left with a gift and the eyes sparkling with joy.  Mrs Dominique Ouattara also received a beautiful gift. A portrait given to her by the artist-singer Abomé l’Eléphant.
