Launch of a pediatric HIV initiative: UNAIDS seeks sponsorship and support from First Lady Dominique Ouattara

The UNAIDS Country Director was accompanied by Dr Kouamé Isabelle, the organization’s Human Rights and Gender Advisor.

Henk Van Renterghen came to request the sponsorship and support of the First Lady in her capacity as UNAIDS Special Ambassador, for the Ivorian government’s initiative to put an end to pediatric HIV through the implementation of a priority action plan.

This decision was greatly appreciated by Madame Dominique Ouattara, who has been working alongside the UN organization for several years to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and promote paediatric treatment. Ms Ouattara agreed to provide the support requested for this initiative.
