Partnership in healthcare: Dominique Ouattara exchanges views with a delegation from Freiburg University Hospital in Germany

First Lady Dominique Ouattara received a delegation of eminent medical professors from the Freiburg University Hospital (CHU) in Germany on Tuesday July 18, 2023, at her Cocody office.

Visiting Côte d’Ivoire, the delegation from Freiburg University Hospital includes Prof. Federick Karl Wenz, Medical Director and Chairman of the Board of Freiburg University Hospital; Prof. Bode Christoph, External Relations Advisor; Prof. Ingolf Juhasz-Böss, Medical Director of the Gynecology Center; Prof. Ulrich Hubbe, Director of the Neurosurgery Department; and Ms Maria Onyshchenko-Dbow, Deputy Director of the International Medical Services and International Business Development Department.  The delegation from Freiburg University Hospital was also accompanied by General Philippe Mango, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Germany, and several of his staff.

The Board of the Freiburg University Hospital is particularly interested in forging a partnership with the Ivorian government in the field of healthcare, through sharing of experience with professionals in the sector, training and capacity-building, and cooperation to improve healthcare provision and technical facilities. In this context, the German delegation visited the Bingerville Mother and Child Hospital. During the visit, Prof. Federick Karl Wenz, Medical Director and Chairman of the Board of the Freiburg University Hospital, congratulated the First Lady on the construction of the hospital, and expressed his wish to establish a partnership between the Freiburg University Hospital and the Dominique Ouattara Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville.

The Freiburg University Hospital has 555 years of history and experience in medical practice, state-of-the-art technology and 12,000 employees, including 3,200 senior doctors.
