Patrick Achi’s mother has passed away: First Lady Dominique Ouattara offers her condolences to the former Prime Minister

The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, visited the home of the former Ivorian Prime Minister, Mr. Patrick Jérôme Achi, on Tuesday November 28, 2023, at Riviera III, to express her condolences and those of the President of the Republic, following the death of the latter’s mother, which occurred on Sunday November 5, 2023.

The First Lady, Mrs Dominique Ouattara, was accompanied by Mrs Maïmouna Koné, wife of the Vice-President of the Republic, Mr Touré Mamadou, Minister for the Promotion of Youth, Professional Integration and Civic Service, Mrs Nassénéba Touré, Minister for Women, the Family and Children, Mrs Logboh Myss Belmonde Dogo, Minister for National Cohesion, Solidarity and the Fight against Poverty, and many other personalities.

Since she was out of the country at the time of the bereavement, the First Lady decided to show her support and solidarity to the grieving family on her return. On behalf of his family and himself, former Prime Minister Jérôme Patrick Achi thanked the First Lady for her support. He also said that he is not surprised of the wife of the Head of State’s visit, in the sense that for all these years, he has benefited from the support and comfort of the First Lady. For this reason, the former Prime Minister thanked the Presidential couple in person for their support during this difficult time.

Mr. Mamadou Touré, spokesman for the First Lady’s delegation, had the honor to speak on behalf of the First Lady. Mr. Mamadou Touré explained that as soon as she returned home, the First Lady was keen to express her condolences to Mr. Jérôme Patrick Achi andthe members of his family. She also contributed to the uneral arrangements of the former Prime Minister’s mother.

Honourable Sotchi Assi Abel, MP for Assikoi, and spokesman for the bereaved family, thanked the Presidential couple for their constant support for Mr. Jérôme Patrick Achi. Indeed, he revealed that the President of the Republic had been at the former Prime Minister’s side from the very first moments.

Mrs Marianne le Du passed away at the age of 89 in Merdrignac, her hometown in the Côtes d’Armor region of Brittany in western France. Her funeral took place on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the strict home privacy.
